Pantone, the color experts have introduced the new colors of the year for 2016. It’s a big deal, because designers and retail stores follow Pantone’s suggestions very carefully. We’ll be seeing various displays and interpretations based on these two colors in your favorite bridal magazines and home design stores.
This is the first time that Pantone has selected a combination of two colors: Rose Quartz
(soft pink) and Serenity (light blue). They are the color authority, and are responsible for setting color trends not only in home and design, but in fashion as well.
The two soft pallets were selected to bring peace and calm into our lives during these very hectic and sometimes stressful moments. According to Pantone, the decision was based on emotion: “A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.”
“Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times,” Pantone said in a press release.
